The way my mother did things at home was to give us a treat for each task completed.
2 1/2 cups granulated white sugar
3/4 cup butter
2/3 cup evaporated milk
12-ounce package (2 cups) semisweet chocolate chips
7-ounce jar marshmallow creamer (also called marshmallow). cream) ) marshmallow fluff)
1 teaspoon vanilla
Line a 20 or 23 cm square baking pan with foil or parchment paper. Coat with non-stick spray. Put aside.
In a HEAVY 3-quart saucepan over high heat, combine sugar, butter and evaporated milk. Stir slowly with a wooden spoon until the butter is melted, scraping the sides of the pan to remove any sugar crystals.
Bring to the boil, stirring constantly with a long wooden spoon. Once it starts to boil, set the timer for 5 minutes and reduce the heat to medium so you don’t burn your fingers – the product should cook for a full 5 minutes. Stir constantly.
When the timer goes off, remove from the heat and add the chocolate pieces. Stir until all chips are melted and mixture is smooth.Add the marshmallow cream and stir with a wooden spoon until well combined. Add the vanilla and mix well. Pour immediately into the prepared pan.
Allow to cool to room temperature. (Good luck.)
Slice and serve! Keep it covered on the counter.
