Cabbage Soup Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 6 cups of cabbage shreds
  • 1 lb. of ground beef
  • 15 ounces of diced canned tomatoes
  • One big onion
  • Garlic cloves, two
  • 1/tsp. salt

 

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 5 cups beef-preferably bone broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • Paprika, 1/2 tsp.
  • Oregano, 1/2 tsp.
  • a single optional bay leaf

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a big pot, warm the olive oil. Add the chopped onion and stir constantly for 2 to 3 minutes. Add ground meat, garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook for 7-8 minutes on medium-high while shredding the meat with a wooden spatula.
  2. Tomatoes in cans, cabbage, Bay leaf, thyme, oregano, paprika, and broth should all be added.

  1. 25 minutes of simmering is required to fully cook and tenderize the cabbage.
  2. Add extra salt and black pepper to the seasoning.
