Fried Cabbage

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium-sized cabbage, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions:

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in the shredded cabbage, salt, black pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes if using. Mix well to coat the cabbage with the spices.
  4. Cook the cabbage mixture for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
  5. Add butter to the skillet and continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the butter to melt and enhance the flavors.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  8. Serve the fried cabbage as a delicious side dish.
