INGREDIENTS
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 6 cups of cabbage shreds
- 1 lb. of ground beef
- 15 ounces of diced canned tomatoes
- One big onion
- Garlic cloves, two
- 1/tsp. salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 5 cups beef-preferably bone broth
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- Paprika, 1/2 tsp.
- Oregano, 1/2 tsp.
- a single optional bay leaf
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a big pot, warm the olive oil. Add the chopped onion and stir constantly for 2 to 3 minutes. Add ground meat, garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook for 7-8 minutes on medium-high while shredding the meat with a wooden spatula.
- Tomatoes in cans, cabbage, Bay leaf, thyme, oregano, paprika, and broth should all be added.
- 25 minutes of simmering is required to fully cook and tenderize the cabbage.
- Add extra salt and black pepper to the seasoning.
