Baked Cod Recipe With Lemon And Garlic

How to thaw frozen fish?

Frozen fish fillets can be quickly defrosted in about 15 to 20 minutes. Here’s how to do it:

  • First, remember to leave the fish in the vacuum machine. If it is not included in the package, place it in a ziplock bag (do not leave it naked underwater).
  • Place the vacuum-packed fish in a bowl and pour cold tap water over it. DO NOT use lukewarm or hot water; This leads to a greater risk of bacterial growth and also affects the texture of the fish.
  • After 15-20 minutes, check if the fish is tender and thawed. If it is difficult in some places, leave it a little longer.

How to bake cod and what temperature is best?

  • First of all, at what temperature should you cook cod? For baked cod, I usually set the oven to 400 degrees F. How long? Depending on the thickness of the cod fillet, the cooking time in the oven can take 10 to 15 minutes.
  • In this cod recipe I use about 1 1/2 pounds of cod fillet and it helps to use a large baking dish or cast iron skillet.Save the lemon sauce for later use.
  • Fry the fish. To give the cod a nice color and texture, fry it in olive oil for about 2 minutes per side.
  • Add lemon sauce. Now add 5 minced garlic cloves to the lemon sauce (lots of flavor) and then pour it over the cod.

INSTRUCTIONS:

    1. In another shallow bowl, combine ⅓ cup all-purpose flour with 1 teaspoon ground coriander, ¾ teaspoon Spanish sweet paprika, ¾ teaspoon ground cumin, and ¾ teaspoon kosher salt.

    1. Bake at 400 degrees F for about 10 minutes or until the cod is cooked through. The fish is ready when it turns a nice, opaque white color and flakes easily when picked up with a fork.
    2. Decorate and serve!I love adding parsley for a little green!
