This recipe is called ‘Earthquake Cake,’ and boy does it live up to its name

PREPARATION:

Begin the Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F.

Prep the Mix: In a mixing bowl, prepare the German chocolate cake mix following the box’s instructions, using the required oil, eggs, and water.

Layer the Goodness: Grease a casserole dish with butter. Create a delightful base by evenly sprinkling the shredded coconut, chopped pecans, and chocolate chips.

Pour it On: Gently pour the cake mix over the layered goodies in the casserole dish.

Creamy Swirl: In a pan, melt the butter and cream cheese together. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar until you achieve a smooth consistency. Evenly spread this mixture over the cake batter and use a knife to create a swirling motion, ensuring a marbled effect.

Bake to Perfection: Pop the casserole dish into the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Cool & Serve: Once baked, allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
