If there’s one dessert that almost everyone enjoys, it might be banana bread. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who didn’t like it. I mean, what’s not to love about a perfectly moist, flavorful piece of cake that you can call bread (and that you can therefore eat for breakfast with minimal conscience)? I’m not usually a fan of chocolate banana bread, but when I heard about this salted caramel I knew I had to try it.
Bananas and caramel go perfectly together in most cases and this recipe is no exception. Don’t let the sound of homemade caramel frosting fool you, the recipe we used here is surprisingly easy to make. First, bring the butter and brown sugar to a boil and cook until the sugar is completely dissolved. Then simply mix together the cream, powdered sugar and salt (the key element of salted butter caramel!).Before pouring the glaze onto the bread, let it cool for a few minutes. It’s up to you to decide whether to unmold the bread before rolling it out!
