Potato Cheese Sticks

Directions:

  1. Begin by boiling the potato sticks in salted water for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are slightly tender but still firm. Drain and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Set up a breading station: In one bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. In a second bowl, whisk the egg. In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Dip each potato stick into the flour mixture, coating it evenly, then dip it into the egg, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb and cheese mixture.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan or frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated potato sticks in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
  5. Remove the fried sticks from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley (optional), and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or marinara.
