Monterey Sausage Pie – A mix of eggs, sausage and other basic ingredients, perfect for lunch or breakfast!

INGREDIENTS

 

    • 1 pound pork sausage, loose
    • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
    • 2 ½ cups Monterey Jack cheese, grated, divided
    • 1 ⅓ cup milk

  • 3 whole eggs
  • ¾ cup biscuit/pasta mix
  • ¾ teaspoon grated sage
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

In a large skillet, brown the sausage over medium-high heat until the meat is no longer pink. Add garlic; let cook for another 1 minute. Exit. Stir in 2 cups cheese. Place in a greased 9-inch deep cake pan.

In a small bowl, combine milk, eggs, biscuit mix, sage and pepper. Pour in the sausage mixture.

Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Sprinkle with remaining cheese; Continue cooking until cheese melts, 1 to 2 minutes. Reserve 10 minutes before slicing.
