INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Sift flour, sugar and salt into a large bowl. Add the fat and mix with the planetary mixer until a lumpy dough forms.
In a measuring cup, mix egg yolks and milk to 2/3 cup. Mix the liquid with the dry mixture until a paste forms.
Divide the dough into two equal halves. Roll each portion into a rectangle that will fit in a 10×15 inch baking pan.
Place one of the dough rectangles on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with cornflakes.
In another bowl, mix the chopped apples with the sugar and cinnamon until well coated.Pour this apple mixture onto the cornflakes.
Cover with the second rectangle of dough and glue the edges well.
Beat the egg whites in a small bowl until fluffy. Spread it over the top crust.
Place in the oven for an hour.
While the bars are baking, mix the glaze ingredients in another bowl. After removing the bars, pour this glaze onto the hot surface.
Wait for them to cool slightly before cutting and serving.
