Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80-85% lean for best flavor)
4 cups Napa cabbage, chopped (or green cabbage as alternative)
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
3 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium if preferred)
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1/2 tsp white pepper (or black pepper)
1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional for heat)
2 green onions, sliced for garnish
1 tbsp vegetable oil (or peanut oil for high heat cooking)
Optional sides: Steamed rice, noodles, lettuce leaves for wraps
Instructions
- Prep all ingredients.
- Stir fry beef, then veggies.
- Prepare the Ingredients:
- Chop the cabbage, mince the garlic, and grate the ginger.
- Measure out all sauces and seasonings.
- Cook the Ground Beef:
- Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add ground beef, season with a pinch of salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
- Remove beef from pan and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics:
- In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Stir fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the Cabbage:
- Toss in the chopped cabbage and stir fry for 3-4 minutes until just tender but still crisp.
- Combine and Season:
- Return the beef to the pan.
- Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, white pepper, and chili flakes if using.
- Stir well to coat everything evenly.
- Finish with Sesame Oil:
- Drizzle sesame oil over the stir fry and give it a final toss.
- Serve:
- Stack the stir fry over rice, noodles, or inside lettuce wraps.
