Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80-85% lean for best flavor)

4 cups Napa cabbage, chopped (or green cabbage as alternative)

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

3 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium if preferred)

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1/2 tsp white pepper (or black pepper)

1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional for heat)

2 green onions, sliced for garnish

1 tbsp vegetable oil (or peanut oil for high heat cooking)

Optional sides: Steamed rice, noodles, lettuce leaves for wraps


Instructions

  1. Prep all ingredients.
  2. Stir fry beef, then veggies.
  3. Prepare the Ingredients:
  4. Chop the cabbage, mince the garlic, and grate the ginger.
  5. Measure out all sauces and seasonings.
  6. Cook the Ground Beef:
  7. Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  8. Add ground beef, season with a pinch of salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  9. Remove beef from pan and set aside.
  10. Sauté Aromatics:
  11. In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Stir fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  12. Add the Cabbage:
  13. Toss in the chopped cabbage and stir fry for 3-4 minutes until just tender but still crisp.
  14. Combine and Season:
  15. Return the beef to the pan.
  16. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, white pepper, and chili flakes if using.
  17. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
  18. Finish with Sesame Oil:
  19. Drizzle sesame oil over the stir fry and give it a final toss.
  20. Serve:
  21. Stack the stir fry over rice, noodles, or inside lettuce wraps.
