
Prawn toast is always so succulent to order in, but the chances are it’s been deep- fried and loaded with fat and carbs. Luckily, I ’ve come up with a guilt-free volition, which is healthier and just as delicious, so you can continue to enjoy one of your favourite treats.
SERVES 2
165g raw king prawns
4 spring onions, 2 roughly diced and 2 finely sliced
1 garlic clove
2 tsp diced gusto
1 tsp cornflour
1 egg, separated
½ tsp Chinese five- spice greasepaint
1 tsp soy sauce
4 slices of white chuck
, crusts removed
tbsp sesame seeds
Low- calorie cuisine spray
Chilli jam or candy chilli sauce, to serve .
Place the prawns, the diced spring onions, garlic and gusto in a blender. Blitz, until finely diced – you do n’t want a purée.
2. Transfer to a large coliseum and stir in the cornflour, egg thralldom , five- spice greasepaint and soy sauce, until well combined.
3. Spread the prawn admixture over two slices of chuck
, also place the other slices on top. Encounter all sides of the sandwich with the egg white, also sprinkle the sesame seeds over the top, pressing them in, so they do n’t fall off when you ’re frying the sandwiches.
4. toast the low- calorie cuisine spray in anon-stick frying visage over a medium heat and fry the sandwiches for 2 – 3 twinkles on each side, until cooked through. It helps to pop commodity slightly heavy on top of the sandwich to weigh it down, so it culinarians more unevenly.
5. Sprinkle the sliced spring onions over the top and serve with chilli jam or sweet chilli sauce.
