Description
A sizzling Thai beef stir-fry with fresh chilies, garlic, and basil. Quick, bold, and packed with flavor for a weeknight dinner. Perfect served over jasmine rice or noodles.
Ingredients
1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
3–4 fresh red chilies, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp fish sauce
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
Slice beef thinly against the grain.
Chop garlic and chilies.
Mix oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar in a small bowl.
Heat oil in a wok or large pan over high heat.
Add garlic and chilies; stir-fry until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
Add beef and cook until browned, about 2–3 minutes.
Pour in the sauce mixture; toss quickly to coat evenly.
Add basil leaves at the end and toss until just wilted.
Serve immediately over jasmine rice or noodles.
Notes
Cook in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding the pan.
Add basil at the end to preserve its fresh aroma and flavor.
Adjust chili quantity according to your spice tolerance.
For extra flavor, marinate the beef in 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tsp sugar for 10 minutes before cooking.
