Instructions
- Make the Pavlova:
- Preheat the oven to 250Β°F (120Β°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a clean mixing bowl, whisk egg whites on medium speed until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff, glossy peaks form.
- Gently fold in cornstarch, vanilla extract, and vinegar.
- Spoon or pipe small meringue rounds onto the baking sheet.
- Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, then turn off the oven and let the meringues cool inside with the door slightly open.
- Whip the Cream:
- In a chilled bowl, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Assemble the Trifle:
- In a large glass trifle bowl or individual glasses, layer as follows:
- A layer of broken pavlova pieces.
- A layer of whipped cream.
- A layer of mixed berries and pomegranate arils.
- Repeat the layers until the bowl is full, finishing with whipped cream and a decorative topping of fresh berries.
